Complex structures with polyols as ligands : The respective tetra‐ and hexaalcohols erythritol and dulcitol undergo fourfold deprotonation in the presence of Cu II to form linear, anionic coordination polymers. In addition, dulcitol forms intramolecular hydrogen bonds (see right).
