Decaphenylferrocene (1) is a symmetric sandwich complex after all! The X‐ray structure analysis (right) shows a propeller‐like arrangement of interleaving phenyl rings. The distance between the cyclopentadienyl ligands and iron is such that maximum orbital overlap is still possible. Analogous structural features are observed for decaphenylferrocenium tetrafluoroborate, obtained by oxidation of 1 with NOBF 4 .
