Only with a second‐row transition metal as the central atom can decamethylmetallocenes [M(C 5 Me 5 ) 2 ] + be fully permethylated to give decaisopropylmetallocenes 1 . The corresponding rhodium complex, M = Rh, was isolated in 55% yield; in the analogous reaction of the cobalt sandwich complex, a maximum of 14 methyl groups were introduced.
