A novel mode of linkage of polyhedral boranes is exhibited in the title anion 1 : The structure of 1 derives formally from the fusion, with two common vertices, of an arachno ‐SB 9 and an arachno ‐SB 10 subcluster. Anion 1 is formed by treatment of anti ‐B l8 H 22 with NaH in THF followed by reaction with sulfur; it crystallizes as the PPh   4 +salt.
