Cytostatically active titanocene dichloride reacts with α‐amino acids to give titanium( IV ) amino acid complexes of the type [Cp 2 Ti(aa) 2 ] 2+ [Cl − ] 2 (aa = α‐amino acid). The structure of the cation ( 1 ) in the corresponding 2‐methylalanine complex is shown on the right.
