Stable tricoordinate mono‐ and dihydrides of gallium, 1 and [(Ar)Ga(H) 2 ], respectively, can be isolated by taking advantage of the kinetic stabilization afforded by bulky Ar substituents. The monohydride 1 , prepared from [(Ar) 2 GaCl] and Li‐GaH 4 , is the product of an unusual rearrangement reaction. Ar = 2,4,6‐ t BuC 6 H 2 .
