Stereospecifically and with surprising ease , the first zwitterionic λ 5 Si,λ 5 Si′‐disilicate ( + )‐ 1 was prepared from (EtO) 3 SiCH 2 NH 2 and ( R,R )‐(+)‐tartaric acid in aqueous solution. The binuclear complex is optically active owing to the two chiral units and the tetradentate tartrato ligands.
