The face‐capping carbene ligand displays a chairlike conformation and unusual side‐on bonding in the triosmium cluster 1 . This air‐stable compound reacts in the presence of Lewis bases with atmospheric oxygen to form 2 , in which the cyclohexadienone ligand is coordinated in a new mode to the Os 3 framework.
