The oxidative coupling of the acyclic trimer of 1,1 ‐di‐ethynylcyclopropane gives title compound 1 as the main product. X‐ray structural analysis of 1 shows that the spirocyclopropane and adjacent butadiyne units have a distinct electronic interaction. A dehydrononamer (C 63 H 36 ) was also isolated.
