Electron‐rich and ‐poor olefins undergo addition reactions with germanediyl 1 . Its reaction with hexatriene 2 gives 3 ; with N ‐phenylmaleimide ( 4 ) the bicyclic germirane 5 is obtained. The two germirane products 3 and 5 were characterized by X‐ray structure analysis. R = (Me 3 Si) 2 CH.
