1,3‐Dimetallaallenes 1 or carbyne complexes 2 are the simplest examples of compounds in which different transition metal complex fragments or units of main group elements are terminally bound to C n bridges. Polymers such as 3 with C 4 bridges which link d 8 ML 2 building blocks are of particular interest as materials with novel properties.
