Remarkably high selectivity marks the reaction of a regioisomeric bisadduct of C 60 with defined structure to give the D 3 ‐symmetric trisadduct 1 . This and other results—for example, the isolation of the seven stable isomers of C 62 (COOEt) 4 (of the eight possible)—were obtained in the first systematic study of the regiochemistry of C 60 with both experimental and theoretical methods.
