A novel coordination geometry of phosphorus is achieved in a simple way by the reaction of the (η 2 ‐ tert ‐butylphosphaalkyne)titanocene 1 with tetraethyldiborane [Eq. (a)]. The resulting dinuclear complex 2 contains a planar tricoordinate phosphorus atom whose lone pair of electrons is not involved in bonding.
