A CrP 4 S bicyclo[2.1.11 system is the central unit of the title complex 1 (the Cp ligands are omitted for clarity from the structure shown on the right). Compound 1 forms in the reaction of P 4 S 3 with the 17‐electron complex fragment [CpCr(CO) 3 ]; here, the P 4 S 3 cage undergoes multiple bond cleavage without fragmentation, accompanied by structural rearrangement.
