By Pd‐catalyzed alkynylation (Stille coupling) the compounds 1 , the first perethynylated cyclobutadiene complexes, can be obtained in one step from [(C 4 l 4 )Fe(CO) 3 ]. R = H, t Bu, SiMe 3 , C 8 H 17 .
