Two bipyridine units that are separated by a rigid rodlike spacer characterize the ligand described here, with which both mono‐ and Binuclear complexes were prepared. Although the metal centers are approximately 1.7 nm apart, an efficient intramolecular energy transfer from the Ru to the Os unit occurs in 1 with a rate constant of 4.1 × 10 7 s −1 .
