Island formation as one mechanism of the phase rebuilding in gas/solid reactions was one of the results of the investigation of the reaction of crystalline thiohydantoins 1a‐c with methyl‐ and dimethylamine by atomic force microscopy. The interesting synthetic building blocks 2 are formed quantitatively and more readily than from alternative ways simply by avoiding solvents.
