Ever more useful is the triamido ligand [(Me 3 Si)NCH 2 CH 2 ]3N 3− , which now has shown its worth in stabilizing a terminal selenido and telluride unit at a tantalum center. Treatment of the dichloride 1 with (thf) 2 LiESi(SiMe 3 ) 3 , E Se or Te, affords the stable complexes 2 and 3 in good yield. The products can be characterized by spectroscopy and X‐ray crystallography.
