A tetrahedral tetraalkynylcuprate —a new structural unit for organocopper compounds—and a “crown” formed from three Li[PhCCCuCCPh] units ( A ) are contained in the first lithium alkynylcuprate 1 . This complex was prepared from copper( I ) bromide dimethylsulfide and LiCCPh.
