Ga 4 N 4 and In 4 N 4 cubes are the central structural units of the tetrameric iminometalanes 1 and 2 , respectively. These are accessible from pentafluoroaniline and trimethylmetalane by methane elimination. Characteristic for these compounds is the increase in the distortion of the cubane framework with the increasing mass of the metal atom.
