Yellow‐orange tetrakis(supersilyl)‐ tetrahedro ‐ tetrasilane ( 1 ), the first derivative of tetrahedro ‐tetrasilane Si 4 H 4 , is stable to heat, light, water, and air, and is not reduced by sodium at temperatures below 70°C, but reacts with oxidants like tetracyanoethylene and bromine. Compound 1 was obtained in 57% yield from reaction (a).
