The cover picture shows a computer‐generated ball‐and‐stick model of tetrakis(tri‐ tert ‐butylsilyl)‐ tetrahedro ‐tetrasilane, the first molecular silicon compound containing a Si 4 tetrahedron (in magenta). After the Ge 6 prismanes and Sib 8 and Sn 8 cubanes, this tetrasilatetrahedrane is another milestone in the synthesis of highly symmetric, strained polycycles exclusively constructed from the higher homologues of carbon. It reemphasizes that unusual molecular frameworks can be stabilized by bulky substituents. More on the synthesis, which has most probably been and still will be attempted in many research groups, and the properties of this compound is reported by N. Wiberg et al. on p. 1054 ff.
