Poly(methyl methacrylate)s with narrow polydispersities can be prepared by anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate by using the ethyl acetate/P4 base initiator system (see below). Depending on the reaction conditions, molecular weights of M n > 40 kg mol −1 can be obtained.
