The construction of supramolecular structures by simple cocrystallization of compounds whose molecular building blocks are complementary is amazingly easy. T d ‐symmetric molecules that can function as Hbond donors, for instance [{M(CO) 3 (μ 3 OH)} 4 ] (M Mn I , Re I ) (shown on the right), and bi‐ or multifunctional Hbond acceptors such as 1,3‐diaminopropane and hexamethylenetetramine form two‐dimensional “chickenwire” networks.
