Positioned in the middle of the V 3 triangle in complex 1 , whose edges are bridged asymmetrically by three S   2 2−ligands, is a μ 3 ‐sulfido ligand (the central unit of 1 is shown on the right). In addition each V atom is coordinated to a terminal bipyridyl ligand. This structure type is new for vanadium complexes.
