Intact tetrathiotungstate units, which are linked into layers by copper(I) ions, are found in the title compound. This can be prepared from [Cu(CH 3 CN) 4 ]BF 4 and (NH 4 ) 2 WS 4 under very mild reaction conditions (135 °C, in solution). The structure of this ternary sulfide was determined by X‐ray powder diffraction. ⊕ = Cu, ○ = S, • = W.
