A ReRe bond is present in the almost C 2 symmetrical complex 1 containing a planar Re 2 S 2 unit. It forms from the desulfurization of 2 with PPh 3 . A notable structural element of the green complex 2 is the ReS 3 chelate ring, in which the Re‐S distances are significantly shorter than those in the S 4 2−chelate complex 1 .
