A nonplanar, chainlike structure for the cation I 2 N 3 +is suggested by the findings of Raman spectroscopy and the results of ab initio calculations (depicted here). This unprecedented binary I‐N cation can be prepared by the reaction of IN 3 with I 2 /SbF 5 or of AgN 3 with I 3 SbF 6 . (Caution: explosive!)
