Every electron‐transfer reaction of a complex process on the electrode , in which individual electron‐transfer and chemical reaction steps are coupled in such a way that a cyclic sequence results, was observed separately for the first time in the electrochemical investigation of the Co II complex 1 . This is crucial for the detailed description of the catalytic activity of 1 , because, as shown here, the redox reactions are strongly dependent on solvent.
