A planar P 6 ‐ring, with a Ni atom located at its center , characterizes the novel complex, [Ni(P t Bu) 6 ] ( 1 ), shown here. This NiP 6 complex is formed upon reaction of (P t Bu) 3 with NiCl 2 and P(SiMe 3 ) 3 . In contrast, reaction of (P t Bu) 3 with [Ni(CO) 4 ] affords the pentanuclear cluster [Ni 5 (P t Bu) 3 (P 3 t Bu 3 )‐(CO) 5 ].
