Two M VI centers in a pentagonal‐bipyramidal environment in which the vertices of the coordination polyhedron are formed by the corresponding oxoligand and a N atom of the bridging H 2 NNH 2 ligands, are contained in the title complexes (shown for M = Mo). The five sulfur atoms of the bipyramid almost lie in a plane, as does the zigzag [MH 2 NNH 2− M] fragment. These complexes are of interest not only structurally, but also as model systems for enzymes such as nitrogenase.
