The search for “heavy brothers” , the homologues of the ubiquitous CO and NO ligands in organometallic chemistry, presses ahead and not without success. Although the stabilization of SiO by a metal complex is still not possible, O. J. Scherer et al. achieved the breakthrough by synthesizing a complex containing PO, [(Cp′Ni) 2 W(CO) 4 (PO) 2 ] (Cp′ = η 5 ‐C 5 i Pr 4 H). (See also the communication on p. 852). Seen in the context of the other homologues, this development promises to be the forerunner of many such exciting possibilities.
