An osmium(0) complex of the type [OsL 4 ] (L = monodentate ligand), namely, [OsCl(NO)(P i Pr 3 ) 2 ] ( l ), was synthesized. Its reactivity toward Lewis acids and bases makes 1 a valuable building block in the synthesis of Os o and Os II complexes.
