The first 1,3,5λ 3 ‐diazaphosphinines 2 were synthesized from 3,5‐diazapyrylium tetrafluoroborates 1 by O/P exchange with tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphane. Compounds 2 react with alkyne dienophiles in a reaction cascade to give the highly functionalized λ 3 ‐phosphinines 3 (Aryl 1 , Aryl 2 = C 6 H 5 , 4‐C 6 H 4 CH 3 , 4‐C 6 H 4 Cl; R 1 , R 2 = H, C 6 H 5 , SiMe 3 , CO 2 Et).
