No σ‐π interaction takes place between the Si skeleton and CC triple bond in cyclosilanylethynes such as cyclo ‐Si 6 Me 11 ‐CC‐ cyclo ‐Si 6 Me 11 and 1 . This follows from the NMR and IR spectroscopic data, as well as from the CC bond length (121.2pm) and CCSi angle (177°) in the case of the former. The compounds were prepared from cyclosilanyl (di)halides, acetylene and Na/K alloy.
