A third intramolecular means of compensating for an electron deficiency at boron—in addition to π‐π and σ‐σ interaction—is illustrated by the structure of 1 : bridging via an aryl group. Such a bridge can be opened using techniques analogous to those appropriate for other bridged methylene boranes.
