The titanacycle 1 as partner in a ligand exchange reaction makes 2 , the first arsacyclobutene, accessible in 50% yield. The NMR spectroscopically quantitative reaction was also used, in an analogous way, for the synthesis of the phosphacyclobutene 3 . The reaction should have wide application. The four‐membered ring is almost planar, both in 2 as well as in 3 .
