Large cations such as Ph 4 P ⊕ and Pr 4 N ⊕ favor a trigonal planar coordination , small ones such as Me 4 N ⊕ a tetrahedral coordination of Ag ⊕ in silver polyselenides. In the novel complex {[Me 4 N][Ag(Se 5 )]} n one‐dimensional infinite [Ag(Se 5 )]   n n⊖macroanions are present in which the Se   5 2⊖ligands bridge three Ag atoms (see 1 ).
