A delocalized quasi‐free π electron is present in the radical cation of 1 , according to ESR and measurements with a SQUID magnetometer. Electrochemical oxidation of 1 at a Pt wire produced salts of 1 ⊕ in the form of blue‐green single crystals. Based on cyclic voltammetric data, the dication 1 2⊕ is also relatively stable, perhaps with a triplet ground state.
