Multicenter interactions play an important role in biomimetic catalysts and receptors. It has now been possible to develop a Rh III Ag I system which accelerates the methanolysis of p ‐nitroacetanilide (stoichiometrically) and the transesterification of ethyl acetate with methanol (catalytically). 1 shows the double activation in the intermediary adduct.
