Clusters with three edge‐sharing Mo 6 octahedra and pairwise linked TI atoms characterize the structure of 1 , which fills a gap in the series of compounds containing fragments of the infinite Mo 4 O 6 chain. Compounds are now known that have isolated octahedra or up to five edge‐sharing octahedra. The electron count for 1 and for the Pb compound 2 (two condensed octahedra) indicates the existence of inter‐cluster bonds and an oxidation state of 2 for TI and Sn or Pb.
