A propeller‐like structure for the title compound 1 in the solid state is a result of the unsymmetrical coordination of the aryl ligands, each of which is σ‐bonded to one Cu and π‐bonded to another. This is a consequence of the steric demands of the isopropyl substituents and leads to the unexpectedly high reactivity of 1 toward electrophiles such as phenyl isocyanate, which inserts into the CuC bonds.
