The Ti IV ‐complex [(Ti(salen)Cl 2 ] 1 can be attacked by nucleophiles at both the ligand as well as at the central atom. For example, depending on the reagent and conditions, the organotitanium compounds 2 – 4 are formed (salen N,N ′‐ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato)).
