The template effect of Ni II has been exploited to prepare substituted crown phosphanes–phosphorus analogues of the crown ethers–in complexed form. 1 adds almost quantitatively to the tertiary‐disecondary triphosphane bound in the complex 2 via the likely intermediate 3 .
