The title compounds [M(CO) 4 (trmpe)], MTi, Zr, Hf, are orange‐red to deep violet. They can be prepared according to equation (a) in 20% (Hf‐complex) to 56% (Ti‐complex) yield. The Zr‐complex 1 has a 4 : 3 piano stool structure, with all bond lengths lying in the expected range (trmpe=CH 3 C(CH 2 PMe 2 ) 3 , DME=dimethoxyethane).
