The alkylidene sulfur tetrafluoride 3 containing a functional group may be prepared simply and in good yield in two steps starting from 1. The ketene 2 is also new. The driving force for the isomerization 2 → 3 is the transformation of cumulative double bonds to conjugated double bonds. An X‐ray structure analysis of 3 at −168°C revealed that the double bond system is cisoid‐planar.
