Other than the formula would suggest, 1 2⊕ has a globular “tertiary structure” both in solution and in the solid state; this was revealed by NMR studies and an X‐ray structure analysis, π‐π interactions between aromatic subunits probably contribute to the stability of the tertiary structure of the Cu 2 ‐[3]‐catenate (stacking arrangement).
