Low‐temperature X‐ray diffraction measurements performed on tetra‐ tert ‐butyltetrahedrane revealed the existence of clathrates in crystals without hydrogen bonds . Both N 2 and Ar are entrapped. The deformation density determined for the Ar clathrate revealed that the tetrahedral bonds are bent outward from the CC bond vector by 26°. (M = center of the line joining the two other C atoms of the tetrahedron.)
