Parallel planes formed by three Ni and three Se atoms are common features of the complexes 2–4 in the crystal. Complex 1 contains a trigonal Ni 6 prism with Se atoms lying above each face. Complexes 2–4 consist of face‐sharing Ni 6 octahedra with the Se atoms as μ 3 and μ 4 ligands.
