An iron‐complexed diene has been acylated twice for the first time . The dimethylbutadiene complex 1 undergoes stepwise Friedel‐Crafts acylation two times to give 3 , via the intermediacy of 2 . The product 3 (RMe) can be transformed into the cyclopentenol 4 by means of reductive photolysis.
